Copy protected DVD movies to hard drive:
Most DVD movies are encrypted, which prevents you from copying them to your hard drive. Magic DVD Ripper overcomes this problem with built-in decryption algorithms. It can remove CSS protection from all the .VOB files. Most DVD drive is region locked, you can't play a disc whose region does not match your drive's region. Magic DVD Ripper breaks this restrict. You can copy all files from a DVD disc with any region and make region free. RCE (Regional Coding enhancement) is a new protect technology to stop region 1 DVDs from playing on Region-free DVD players. Magic DVD Ripper can also remove RCE protection.

Copy main movie only or split DVD-9 into DVD-5:
Many DVD movies store on a DVD-9 disc (7.95GB). But a blank DVD disc is 4.38GB. To make a DVD-9 movie fit on a blank DVD disc, Magic DVD Ripper can copy main movie only, excluding unwanted audios and subtitles. And it can aslo split a DVD-9 movie into two DVD-5 discs without any loss. So you can copy your DVD-9 movies to blank DVD disc easily with a DVD burning software.

Convert DVD to VCD/SVCD:
Usually the size of DVD file is very large. it needs about 4 GB disk space to store a DVD movie. In order to save the space of your hard disk, you can convert DVD to VCD or SVCD files (.mpg).
